As an amateur photographer, I’m always on the lookout for cool cameras for kids (I mean, besides the ubiquitous Fisher Price kids’ digital camera). I recently spied this cool Kids Fisheye 2 Lens Camera in the “new arrivals” section at The Land of Nod. I think that for an older child (say kindergarten or up), this would make a great birthday gift. Fisheye photography- originally used in astronomy or meteorology- produces a funky, disorted spherical image that kids will love. It’s just become available in compact cameras like this one, which unlike most cameras kids use nowadays, actually uses 35mm film (remember that?). It has a built-in electronic flash and comes with a wrist strap and, of course, instructions. It costs $70 at The Land of Nod.
Happy Snapping!
