Flight of the Conchords

In two weeks, one of my favorite HBO shows, Flight of the Conchords, returns for its long-awaited sophomore season. If you haven’t seen this show before, you must give it a try! It’s not your typical comedy- it has a very dry, deadpan humor that is nonetheless hysterical. It’s about a New Zealander rock duo, Brett and Jemaine, who are trying to make it big on the music scene in NYC. They have an incompetent manager Murray, and one lone stalker-ish fan, played brilliantly by Kristin Schaal. Brett and Jemaine are endearingly pathetic; strapped for cash, they have to film a music video on a cell phone camera. I can’t really give you a better description here because the show sort of defies it. Watch it and you’ll see what I mean. If you want to catch up, you can buy Flight of the Conchords – The Complete First Season from Amazon.com for $23.99.
