Several people gave me board books when S. was born, which I really appreciated so that he wasn’t stuck with his sister’s chewed-up copies of Goodnight Moon and Happy Baby Colors. Relishing my first time as mom to a boy, I especially loved the boy-themed books people gave me (I know this doesn’t sound politically correct…I recognize these books are great for girls, too, but having grown up in a family with just daughters, I liked getting these recommendations). Here are some of S’s favorite books that he received in his first year. He is nearly 3 and we still read these all the time:
My Car Board Book($6.99). The author, Byron Barton, has some other great board books too. The main “character” in My Car has the same name as S., so we love it even more.
Sports A to Z($5.95). From archery to zamboni, this book was educational for Mommy, too.
That’s Not My Train (Usborne Touchy-Feely)($8.99) This book has lots of touch-and-feel parts which S. enjoys. It’s part of a whole transportation series.
Diggers: Usborne Touchy-Feely Series ($15.95). This is our favorite of the series.
Any other suggestions for fun board books for boys? Post them in the comments!
