On Labor Day, my parents and I took R. and S. to visit Washington Heights (where my dad grew up) and the “Little Red Lighthouse” which is, incongruously, smack dab beneath the George Washington Bridge. My dad had last been to the Lighthouse on a field trip when he was in kindergarten (R.: “They had field trips back then?“)
