William & Kate for the Littlest People

You may have heard by now that Barbie is releasing William & Kate Wedding Barbie Dolls this April to mark the royal couple’s first anniversary. Pre-orders are sold out already and I’m guessing many collectors will have to turn to Ebay. But, if you’re looking for a less expensive, toddler-friendly version of the royal couple as toy figures, check out this offering from English toy company Early Learning Centre. It’s a Happy Land Royal Wedding Set which is sort of the U.K. equivalent of Fisher Price’s Little People. This little set contains the stylish young couple in a gold-trimmed horse-drawn carriage, plus the Queen (who bears a striking resemblance, I think), Prince Philip, and “their favourite Corgi” (love it!) looking on with a Royal Cavalry soldier and foot soldier. Hey, little kids can dream, right? You can buy it online (if you’re willing to pay international shipping) from U.K. toy emporium Debenhams for £4.50.
