Last week I judged the Baby & Kids division of the New York International Gift Fair, a major trade show where some of the best gifts, toys, apparel, and decor make their debut. Along with several other judges, I chose the Best New Products in the kids’ division–you can read the full list of winners here.
I’ll be sharing some of my personal favorites here at the blog, but first I wanted to show you one that obviously all of the judges (including me) loved because it won the prestigious “Blogger’s Best” award. It’s called Box Play for Kids® and it’s a Phoenix-based company that makes fun eco-friendly stickers that turn old boxes and containers into creative new toys. I was really taken with this idea, because, let’s be honest. You can try to turn empty toilet paper rolls into camouflage binoculars yourself, but will they really look as good as these?
Or how about an egg carton traffic light?
I think that these stickers are very visually appealing for kids, so, in the long run, your little ones will play with these “upcycled” toys much longer than if they just used the plain containers. Also, Box Play for Kids is priced reasonably (about $6 or $7 per set) so you could even use them as a party favor (I guarantee you they’ll be a hit).
